Older wiring does not automatically mean a property needs a complete rewire.
However, signs that an installation may require further investigation include:
- Very old wiring
- Lack of modern circuit protection
- Damaged accessories
- Frequent electrical faults
- Poor previous alterations
- No earth conductor to certain circuits
- An unsatisfactory EICR
An inspection or EICR is normally the best way to establish the condition of the installation.
